Jackie Chan: Don’t Force People to View Nude Pictures

Recently mainland China was hit by a snow storm causing a disaster to a large area. Immediate relief efforts are needed. Yesterday, Jackie Chan, Salvation Army and other businesses held 「第13屆羽絨城成龍送暖行動」 (collects jackets, quilts and such for the needy). They would send 450 collected eiderdown clothing to the snow disaster area to help the victims’ basic needs. The sex picture scandal caused frenzy in Hong Kong. Jackie stressed many times that he would not comment on it since it is a serious issue.

Jackie just returned to Hong Kong. He immediately contacted different charity organizations and businesses to prepare for the “Sending Comfort” charity drive. He also encouraged other businesses and citizens to personally donate new or worn jackets and quilts to the snow victims. Yesterday at the function, foreign tourists were drawn to the event. Many were clamoring to take pictures with Jackie Chan.

When Jackie was discussing about the relief effort, Jackie said: “Actually, I collected HK$1 million before I returned to Hong Kong. We are now planning on how to spread this across the entire disaster area.” He expressed that he hopes he can help out the motherland with his efforts. He also divulged that in the New Year, he would be very busy. He has to film a promotional video for the equestrian event for the Olympic. He also needs to go for the torch relay and such.

Besides that, when the reporter mentioned the sex picture scandal involving female artistes, Jackie replied: “What incident? I don’t know about it! I only know that you (media) should report on actual news to encourage citizens to donate more clothing and quilts to the Salvation Army. This is more important than any other news. (The public’s attention is on the nude pictures.) You should not force the citizens to view it!” What are your thoughts on the nude pictures? Jackie said: “This is a serious incident; I won’t comment on it. It doesn’t matter whatever I say (never saw that character before?) Thank-you!” The reporter mentioned people suspected it was Edison’s girlfriend who is in pictures on the internet. Jackie said: “Who’s that? Thank-you!” Jackie left in attempt to end the interview.Then, Jackie was asked about his alleged feud with 陳自強. Jackie said: “Nothing is more important than the relief effort. I would answer these questions in another personal interview.”
